Led by Dr Clara Hoppe from the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI), Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research, new findings published in the journal Nature Communications show Arctic microalgae can build biomass with less light than previously recorded as the minimum for photosynthesis.

The Ice Core Working Group (ICWG) of the U.S. National Science Foundation Ice Drilling program (IDP) invites nominations, including self-nominations, from the U.S. scientific community to fill one open position on the ICWG. The ICWG aims to have diverse representation from a range of scientific expertise and career stages.

Nord University has joined Arctic Six, previously known as Arctic Five. The alliance also operates as a UArctic Regional Centre.
