The University of Lapland hosts The Model Arctic Council (MAC), the event takes place October 29 - November 2. MAC is an academic program in which students from universities throughout the circumpolar north and beyond have the opportunity to get hands on experience with Arctic concerns.



Árni Jóhan Petersen from the University of the Faroe Islands participated in a north2north mobility research stay in British Colombia in 2018, where he studied the effects of "gold rush" on local communities, the stay also involved the UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Sustainable Resources and Social Responsibility.
