The postdoctoral researcher will to join the research group on ice mechanics and work on fracture of ice. The successful candidate will design and conduct laboratory experiments on fracture of ice, and contribute significantly in analyzing the results and publishing articles in high-impact journals. The postdoc will also work as an active member of the group and to participate in group meetings and in planning of future research. In addition, the successful candidate may participate in supervising students and other teaching activities, but research will be the main task.

A PhD in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, materials science, geophysics, or related field is required. A successful candidate will have a demonstrated proficiency in deformation and strength of solids. Experience in laboratory work, ice mechanics, or digital image correlation (DIC) will be considered as advantage. Strong English language skills, both written and oral, are needed.
