The consortia must develop innovative and attractive programmes of high academic quality, drawing on the strengths of each of the participating institutions.

The programmes should be “joint study programmes” with graduates receiving one joint or multiple national diplomas, depending on national legislation.

The programmes must qualify for 120 ECTS credits, in other words they must be be two-year courses of study. The minimum course offering from each HEI involved in the consortium must amount to 20 ECTS credits.

Courses should be taught in English; however, exceptions may be made in certain cases.

Consortiums consisting of higher education institutions from a minimum of three Nordic countries may apply. Only institutions from the five Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Island, Norway and Sweden and from the three autonomous regions Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Åland are eligible.
