84,1314This second-year-level, multidisciplinary course presents an overview of the historical and scientific context of the fourth International Polar Year 2007-2008 and offers an examination of its development, planning, and execution. The overall orientation of the course is historical and descriptive rather than analytical or theoretical. The course will be of particular interest to individuals working in government, media, or business who seek a greater understanding of this international enterprise, as well as students of history, science, and contemporary issues of the North.

The course runs from 1 February to 30 April 2008 (registration opens on 3 December 2007, and late registration will be accepted only until 5 February 2008). Tuition for the course is $150 CDN.
